Fetal heart rate is a means of predicting fetal safety, so every pregnant woman needs to keep a record of the fetal heart rate. At this time, pregnant women must know the normal range of fetal heart rate.

1. The normal fetal heart rate is 120~160 beats/minute;

2. The average fetal heart rate before 20 weeks of pregnancy is 162 beats/minute;

3. The average fetal heart rate is 147 beats/minute during 21~30 weeks of pregnancy;

4. The average fetal heart rate is 139 beats/minute during 31~40 weeks of pregnancy.

Fetal heart rate monitoring methods

1. Under normal circumstances, self-monitoring is not allowed before 15 weeks of pregnancy. For pregnant women between 15 and 25 weeks of pregnancy, it is generally necessary to measure 2 to 3 times a day, and each monitoring should be kept for about 1 minute. After 28 weeks of pregnancy, since the fetus is relatively completely differentiated in the mother's body, the monitoring time and frequency can be appropriately extended. For those high-risk pregnant women with hyperthyroidism and hypertension, they should be hospitalized in time to monitor the fetal heart rate.

2. Before 24 weeks of pregnancy, the location of fetal heart monitoring is generally in the middle of the navel or on both sides of the midline of the abdomen of the pregnant woman. As the fetus continues to grow in the abdomen, the location of the fetal heart sound also changes. After 24 weeks, the fetal heart sound moves to the back of the fetus. Under normal circumstances, the fetal heart rate of the head position can be monitored below the navel, while the fetal heart rate of the breech position can be monitored above the navel of the pregnant woman.

3. The beating of the fetal heart is closely related to the breathing of the fetus. The normal fetal heart rate is generally not more than 160 beats/minute and the lowest is generally not less than 120 beats/minute. When the fetus is hypoxic in the mother's body, the fetal heart rate will first increase, and as time goes on, the fetal heart rate will gradually decrease, so a low fetal heart rate is more terrible than an increased fetal heart rate.
